Andhbhakt & Libtards — How we are killing individual thinking!

So, someone doesn’t agree with you and you also oppose Modi, so the easiest route for you to escape that criticism is to put a label on that person.

A label, that has a lot of negative connotations attached to it. A label that instantly triggers a mob mentality among your ‘followers’. That mob mentality leads them to reject all the criticism from that person because you have associated a label with him that they all collectively love to hate.

Now, lets take a step back.

Your own followers, at this point of time, are also not thinking for them individually.

They are also influenced by a mob mentality.

They are also easily triggered to attack those who criticise you, because of the labels you attach with your critics.

Then, they are also “andhbhakts”.

But wait a minute, you wanted to prevent them from becoming andhbhakts, and you led them to become exactly that.

The answer lies in what you wanted them to prevent from. Reality is, you did not want to prevent them from becoming andhbhakts, you wanted them to hate a party/ideology/person whom you also hate and to make the process easy, you created identity of the ‘other’.

That identity was of a ‘bhakt’. A person that supports that party/ideology/person. This labelling enbaled you to not only skip any genuine criticism from the other side of the aisle, but also, it enabled you to create a long herd of people, who think as a mob, want each other’s validation and do not want to associate with that identity of the ‘other’. In the process, without self-realization and individual thinking, they end up becoming the same other. They end up becoming a bhakt. Your bhakt!

Exactly the same thing happens in other side of the aisle. You can read the above article by replacing the word Bhakt with libtards.

These labels are biggest threat to critical thinking today. These labels are intrinsically designed with the only purpose of creating fractions. These labels are designed to create divide. These labels kill individual thinking and promote mob mentality.

I have been very much guilty of this labeling in past. Slowly, I am realizing how this is a big problem and now I actively try to see people as individuals, rather than under a label.

Best way to quash these labels is to -

  1. See everyone as an individual

2. Try to understand their perspective

3. Have compassion towards others

4. Have any opinion because “that is what you genuinely feel”, not because “everyone feels the same way so it must be right”

5. Not feel a need to have opinion about everything under the sun. You are allowed to accept that you do not know certain things

6. To be ready to change your opinion about anything as and when you get to learn new things

In the end, all I am trying to say is we should actively try to move away from thinking as a mob to thinking as an individual. As soon as we are able to do that, we will be able to have a greater understanding about other people.
